In order to promote the innovative development of underwater intelligent robot technology, accelerate the cross integration of underwater intelligent equipment technology with other disciplines, and promote cooperation and exchange of underwater intelligent robot technology among countries, the 5th World University Underwater Robot Competition (WUURC) is now launched. The notice regarding the competition is as follows:
1. Competition Objective
The competition aims to inspire the cultivation of innovative talents and promote international university student exchanges, creating a platform for young students from Belarus, China and abroad to exchange and interact with underwater intelligent robots, and inspiring the innovation enthusiasm of young students around the world.
The competition is open to students currently enrolled in universities and research institutes worldwide. Each institution can recommend an unlimited number of participating teams. For the AUV and ROV track, each team consists of 2-5 members, with no more than 3 instructors per team. For the Creative Concept track and Simulation track, each team shall not exceed 3 members, with no more than 2 instructors per team.Each participant can only join one team within the same track; Meanwhile, in both AUV and ROV tracks, each participant can only choose one track to participate.

AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle), one of the main categories of underwater vehicles, which integrates controllers, sensors, computer software and power, and it has autonomous perception and intelligent decision-making capabilities, and navigates with its own power.
emote Operated Vehicle (ROV), also known as underwater vehicle, working under extreme circumstance of underwater, which can dive into the water to substitute human to complete the underwater operation. Owing to the harsh and dangerous underwater environment and human's diving depth limitation, underwater vehicle has served as an important tool for the ocean exploitation.
Taking the pandemic impact into account, to create more convenience for each team to participate in this competition, Prototype Track is specially set up.
